proyectoamil is pleased to invite you to the presentation of Polyrhythm | Synesthesia by interdisciplinary artist Efraín Rozas, with the participation of guest dancer Clara Luna Donoso.
Polirritmia I Sinestesia combines robotics, percussion, light, and dance to create a hypnotic experience for the viewer. By blending temporal, auditory, and visual effects, the work utilizes rhythm as both a ritualistic and immersive element.
Efraín Rozas’s work has been described as “an incredible physical presence that transformed the stage into a soundscape” by The New York Times. It has also been characterized as “a deep psychonautic immersion” by The Wire and as “an intense confluence of technology, culture, and cognition” by The New Yorker.
Currently he is a resident at Camargo (France). His work has been presented at the Kennedy Center, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Lima, as well as in Central Park and SummerStage as part of the 50th anniversary of Fania Records. He has also received the interdisciplinary arts award granted by the New York State Council for the Arts, among other recognitions.
Polyrhythm | Synesthesia was developed with the support of the Jerome Hill Artist Fellowship 2023–2025, one of the most important awards in interdisciplinary art in the United States.
