We are pleased to invite you to the Gathering “Ancestral Knowledge and Reconstruction of the Waru Waru”, an initiative organized by the World Monuments Fund Peru in partnership with the Aymara Association Suma Yapu, with the support of proyectoamil, which highlights a millennial agricultural infrastructure: the Waru Waru.

The event will feature the participation of members of the Aymara communities of Acora, Puno, who will share the results of the recovery of five Waru Waru through an exhibition featuring photographs, video, and informative texts; additionally, they will offer their first harvest of native potatoes from the 2025-2026 agricultural season in a market specially organized for the occasion.

During these days, we will present a diverse program that includes guided tours led by the Acora communities, talks with specialists on resilience and agrobiodiversity, and reflection and tasting sessions led by colectivo amasijo.
