Proyecto AMIL is pleased to invite you on Tuesday May 26 at 7pm to the first talk within the framework of the exhibition Sergio Zevallos. Obscene Death, with the participation of the artist.
Sergio Zevallos. La Muerte Obscena presents two series of drawings by Zevallos, made during the formation of Grupo Chaclacayo (1982-1995), one of the most daring collective experiments that emerged in Peru in the 1980s. The event presents a fluid dialogue of four voices, with the artist, on the series and on his practice in drawing, photography and performance, and its tension with the social, sexual and political context of then and now.
Participants:
Max Lira (researcher and queer activist)
Eliana Otta (visual artist and coordinator of the curatorial team of the Place of Memory, Tolerance and Social Inclusion)
Karen Bernedo (researcher, visual anthropologist and member of the Traveling Art Museum for Memory)
Sergio Zevallos (visual artist)
Moderator:
Miguel A. Lopez (researcher and curator of the exhibition)
