About the guests:
Malú Machuca Rose is an activist, researcher, educator and transfeminist and anti-colonial cultural worker. She is a sociologist by profession and holds a master’s degree in gender and sexuality. She is currently a PhD candidate in Performance Studies at Northwestern University, where she is developing her doctoral dissertation entitled “Ungovernable: Performances of Sex-Gender Dissidence in the Necro-State”. Her published texts include the books “Nuestra Voz Persiste, Estado de Violencia” and the essay: “La vida después de la muerte de Giuseppe Campuzano: Hacia una metodología travesti para la crítica, el cuidado y la resistencia radical” (The Afterlife of Giuseppe Campuzano: Towards a Transvestite Methodology for Critique, Care and Radical Resistance).
Javi Vargas Sotomayor is a multidisciplinary visual artist and Asperger activist. Their work connects experiences, interests and fields of knowledge apparently unconnected: archaeo-astronomy, transfeminism, queer animality, Andean mythology, history and ecology. Their work is part of the permanent collection of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (MNCARS) in Madrid and the Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI).
Elena Tejada-Herrera is a transdisciplinary artist whose hybrid languages include participatory and multimedia works with a transfeminist perspective from an intersectional approach. Many of her pieces challenge notions of political correctness, incorporating civil disobedience in a celebratory way and creating spaces for the exercise of alternative ways of existing, relating and occupying spaces.
