Proyecto AMIL
Lima
Proyecto AMIL is pleased to invite you to Oasis Paraiso, a platform for artistic practices in the expanded field of performance. This first edition calls for performance and installation as a local practice and urgency, as the result of the eruption of our chaotic daily life and city drives.
Understanding local production is intimately tied to rethinking how the everyday life of Lima collides with the decisions of the artistic process of different local creators. There is an evident imperativeness to think the city through its architecture, its economies, its materials, its routes, its references to spectacle and glamour, and through the way in which the city constructs its desires. How does the city desire? Through what and how? Who desires and how do we desire collectively? This is an experiment to think about how to understand recent local production and the mixed-use of strategies and solutions of both installation processes and performative gestures.
Oasis Paraiso emerges in this context, it is a project that will be set up during one night at Proyecto AMIL to create a structure of mirages as an escape in this intense summer.
The project has been developed by curator Gisselle Girón and cultural manager Daniela Moscoso.
