OPEN STUDIO

Saturday 9 November 2019
5pm – 9pm

Proyecto AMIL
Lima

Proyecto AMIL is pleased to announce that on Saturday 9 November, between 5pm and 9pm, will take place the Open Studio that concludes the residency of the artists of the Matadero Madrid Mobility Program co-produced by AECID and Proyecto AMIL: Pablo García Martínez (AKA Elandorphium) and Rafa Munárriz.

Throughout the Open Studio some of the processes and projects conceived during the residency will be shared with the public: Pablo García Martínez (AKA Elandorphium) will present the action El travestidor ambulante, a food cart that will travel the streets of Lima “queerizing” the city with wigs and glitter. The street action closes the cycle of transvestisms that the artist presented during the month of October in Proyecto AMIL and will gather his research around the body and public space in Lima. Between 5pm and 9pm El travestidor ambulante will be parked at Proyecto AMIlL sharing its experiences.

Rafa Munárriz will present a video installation that links the urban environment with the different interpretations given about the geoglyphs of the Nazca culture. A space proposal that places the viewer’s gaze on the hood of a racing car while it draws the circuit’s layout. The combination of the noise pollution of the engine and the ethereal vision of the sky proposes a space of meditation in which one can imagine the layout of the circuit. In addition, Munárriz will show a series of formal experiences carried out as a start of future projects based on his experience in the city of Lima.
