Proyecto AMIL
Lima
For the eighth edition of AMIL- Art Sessions, the artist Antonio Paucar will present Memories from the Inside Body, a performance that investigates sensory poetics, its relationship with body memory and spatial perception, through a group of ritual practices from the Andes.
In an eminently visual era, characterized by an inexhaustible reproducibility of images, Memories from the Inside Body, proposes an imaginary, sensory and symbolic journey based on the use of smells, textures, sounds and songs.
Memories from the Inside Body will have three sessions, each with a maximum of fifteen participants. Throughout the action, the public must keep their eyes closed; thus, the use of mobile phones and/or cameras is strictly prohibited. At the end of each session, participants will receive a sheet of paper in which they can synthesize their experience –either textually or graphically– to finally share it in a last talk with the artist.
Reservations are not possible; the admission depends on the order of arrival.
AMIL- Art Sessions is a series of monthly encounters at Proyecto AMIL aimed to expand artistic and curatorial practice beyond the temporal and spatial limitations of exhibition making. Throughout this series Proyecto AMIL seeks to promote alternative ways to talk about and experience contemporary art; as well as create a platform for exchange between artists, curators, researchers and our local audience.
