Proyecto AMIL
Proyecto AMIL is delighted to invite you to a talk by the Swiss artist Not Vital, who will tell us about his most recent projects and plans for his up-coming collaboration with Proyecto AMIL. Not Vital (Switzerland, 1948) currently divides his time between Brazil, Chile, China, Niger and Switzerland. His work is inspired by personal impressions and experiences gained on his many trips around the world. Frequently he processes images and forms from various cultures into new projects and installations. Working across diverse media and cultures, Not Vital’s practice blurs the boundaries between reality and the surreal. The artist’s work was featured in “Plateau of Humanity” at the 49th edition of the Venice Biennale, Italy (2001). Recent exhibitions and commissions include: Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield, UK (2016); the Museo d’Arte di Mendrisio, Mendrisio, Switzerland (2014-2015); the Cabinet d’Arts Graphiques, Musées d’Art et d’Histoire, Geneva, Switzerland (2014); the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing, China (2011); KÖR Kunsthalle Wien public space Karlsplatz, Vienna, Austria (2009 – 2010); The Arts Club of Chicago, Illinois (2006); Kunsthalle Bielefeld, Germany (2005), among many others.
