proyectoamil, in collaboration with Radical Sounds Latin America (RSLA) and Buh Records, presents a new edition of SONORA, a program dedicated to contemporary sound practices situated between experimental music, performance, and expanded listening.
This edition brings together Carla Boregas (RAKTA), Alejandra Cárdenas (Ale Hop) —with Anna Cuadra and Ignacio Briceño— and Ale Borea, in a series of live performances that explore sound as a physical, emotional, and contextual experience.
Carla Boregas is a Brazilian musician and sound artist whose work combines acoustic and synthetic instrumentation to create soundscapes of great density and subtlety. Her practice spans composition, improvisation, performance, and sound installation, and has been widely presented across Europe, the Americas, and Japan. On this occasion, Boregas will perform compositions and pieces from her album Pena ao Mar.
Alejandra Cárdenas is a Peruvian musician and sound artist whose practice bridges musical experimentation, song, performance, and writing. For this occasion, she presents A Body Like a Home, her most personal project to date and her first album released under her real name. Conceived as a sonic memory, the work weaves together songs and poems centered on voice, electric guitar, electronic textures, and field recordings, addressing processes of trauma, recovery, and affection. In this performance, Cárdenas is joined by Anna Cuadra on violin and Ignacio Briceño on electric guitar.
Ale Borea is a musician, sound artist, and researcher based in Berlin. Her practice brings togehter sound, rhythm, and language, and unfolds through both theoretical research and live performance, exploring listening as a mode of work and relation.
SONORA proposes a space of encounter for sound practices that exceed the traditional concert format and invite attentive and active listening.
