As part of Haciendo Contexto VIII, proyectoamil invites you to take part in a series of conversations with Frau Diamanda, a multidisciplinary artist whose work challenges the boundaries of body, identity, and cultural narratives. In this event, the artist will explore her artistic and audiovisual production, as well as her relationship with trans art in Peru and its development in other contexts.
Frau Diamanda (Lima, 1971) is a translator, writer, transvestite audiovisual artist, independent curator, drag performer, cultural infector, DJ, and occasional actress. She specializes in transgender art and multimedia performance. She completed the PEI – Independent Studies Program at MACBA (2017–2018) and published the book Catalan Scenes: Anthropological-Sexual Wanderings with La Máquina Barcelona in 2020. She has been based in Barcelona since 2016.
