A new intervention by Martin Gustavsson in collaboration with Rhodas Cnbl and María Abaddon
As the artist in residence at Proyecto AMIL for summer 2016, Martin Gustavsson spent 3 months in Lima creating a new body of work in dialogue with the local artistic community. Indeed, all through March and April, Gustavsson transformed the Proyecto AMIL main gallery into an active participatory space, a permanently open studio, inviting artists to witness and engage in his creative process. Saints and Fuckers represents the interchange that has taken place during this period and consists on a number of installations, in collaboration with Rhodas Cnbl and María Abaddon, that reflect on the impact of image making in relation to religion, homophobia and different types of colonialism.
