SCREENING: Yoko Ono. Works on Video

Saturday 8 December, 2018
3:30-8pm

Proyecto AMIL
Lima

In the context of Yoko Ono. Universo Libre, the first retrospective of Yoko Ono in Peru, Proyecto AMIL is pleased to invite you to Yoko Ono. Works on Video, a marathon of the artist’s film work between 1964 and 1972.

Ono’s films occupy an exceptional place in the history of independent cinema in the United States and the world. Ono not only challenged the tradition of the authority of the camera and the passive viewer, but developed alternative forms of creation, production and exhibition specifically inspired by the medium.

Yoko Ono. Works on Video includes seminal films and performances by Ono such as, Cut Piece (1964) and Film Nº 1 (1966); the multiple and innovative collaborations of the artist with John Lennon, such as Wrapping Piece [Lion Wrapping Event] (1967), Bed Peace (1969) and Imagine (1972); and solo-pieces such as Museum of Modern [F] art (1971).
